FOR KITTENS IN THE
1ST GROWTH STAGE:
WEANING TO 4 MONTHS

Kittens grow in TWO unique phases.  In the lst stage - Weaning to four months (16 wks.), the switch from mother's milk to solids is delicate and can create digestive issues for the kitten.  The immunity transmitted by the mother decreases when the kitten's own immune defences are not yet fully functional.  Proper nutrition is essential in getting babycats off to a healthy start.

Immunity Booster

The babycat is extra-sensitive because of the loss of natural immunity from her mother’s milk. BABYCAT 34TM contains a patented complex of immunity boosting antioxidants(taurine, lutein and vitamins E & C) to strengthen the immune system, as well as L-lysine and mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) to naturally stimulate the production of antibodies to help protect the babycat.
Babycats have baby teeth and need help transitioning from their mother’s milk. BABYCAT 34TM’s tiny, ultra-soft kibble are designed for easy grasping & chewing by the baby kitten’s tiny jaws and can be rehydrated, making the transition to solid food easier.
A babycat needs a food that is gentle on her developing digestive system. BABYCAT 34TM is made with highly digestible carbohydrates and proteins (like brown rice, chicken meal and dried egg powder), prebiotics (like mannan- and fructo-oligosaccharides), fiber (from dried beet pulp and powdered cellulose) and omega 3 fatty acids, all of which make digestion easier for your babycat’s tummy.

FOR KITTENS IN THE
2ND GROWTH STAGE:
4 MONTHS TO 12 MONTHS

Kittens grow in 2 unique phases.  In the second stage, 4 to 12 months, the kitten's growth slows down.  Her digestive system and natural defences develop, but remain fragile, her bone structure stengthens gradually, and her final set of teeth appear.  Proper nutrition is important to ensure she grows to be a healthy adult cat.

Digestive Health

The kitten’s digestive system is at a critical stage of development. KITTEN 36TM encourages healthy digestion using prebiotics like mannan- and fructo-oligosaccharides, water-absorbing zeolite and extremely digestible proteins like wheat gluten (99% digestible).
A kitten needs a strong immune system for protection. KITTEN 36TM contains a patented complex of immunity boosting antioxidants (taurine, lutein and vitamins E & C) to strengthen the immune system, as well as L-lysine and mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) to naturally stimulate the production of antibodies.
It is important to start caring for a kitten’s teeth and gums as soon as his permanent teeth grow in. KITTEN 36TM’s smaller kibbles are specially engineered in shape, size, texture and density to simulate a brushing action, while sodium tripolyphosphate traps minerals that contribute to the formation of plaque and tartar on a kitten’s teeth.

THESE SUGGESTIONS ARE MY OWN  :  NOT NECESSARILY WHAT IS WRITTEN ON THE FEED BAGS, BUT IT WORKS FOR ME.

·
At one year, change to any ‘Royal Canin’ Indoor Cat DRY feeds, watching calories to maintain healthy weight.

·       All foods are available at Pet Valu, Pet Smart, or any Pet Food Store (not you grocery store).

·       Approx. 1 – 1 ½ cups per day, left out ‘free choice’.  Always accompany with fresh clean water, also left out ‘free choice’.

·       Canned food is fed only as a treat. (Small amount: 1 tsp.)  Want it to be totally eaten.  Don’t leave this wet mix out for more than an hour.  Throw away whatever is left over.

·       Kittens do best when the wet food is fed only as a reward, and the dry mix is their main staple.  Better for their teeth; more concentrated nutrition in dry ration.  Stools remain black and firm.  Canned food has a tendency to cause loose, smelly movements, and finicky eaters.

Enjoy your new kitten, and if ever you have questions, I am always happy to talk about my Purrrrfectly Precious Ragdolls.
