  5. The Buyer is responsible for the proper care of the kitten/cat which includes, but is not limited to:  good quality food, fresh water, and regular veterinary care, and safe and sanitary indoor living conditions.  Due to the submissive nature of the Ragdoll breed, the purchased kitten/cat will not be allowed to roam free outdoors.

HEALTH GUARANTEE:

·        The Seller provides a 72 Hour Limited Warranty that the above cat/kitten is in good, sound health.  If the cat/kitten is found to be in “Unsound Health” by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours after taking possession, the cat/kitten shall be returned to the Seller, and a Replacement with another cat/kitten of equal value will be given.  Said Replacement will be made as soon as a suitable Replacement becomes available.  A medical report signed by the examining veterinarian must be provided to the Seller prior to a replacement being made.  “Unsound Health” shall be defined as any condition which is “life threatening” or “incurable” and shall not include “curable” conditions or infections, such as colds, virus, or bacterial infections.

·        The Seller further Guarantees that the above cat/kitten is free from congenital defects or genetic diseases for a period of Two Years from the date of sale.  In the event that this cat /kitten is found to have a congenital defect or genetic disease within this two year timeframe, it can be Replaced with a cat/kitten of equal value. A medical report signed by the examining veterinarian must be provided to the Seller prior to a replacement being made.

·        The Breeder/Seller guarantees that this cat/kitten’s parents are both DNA Tested Double Negative for the genetic defect found to be responsible for (HCM) Hypertrophic Cardio- Myopathy.  Copies of the EVALUATION FOR THE RAGDOLL HYPERTROPHIC CARDIO- MYOPATHY CARDIAC MYOSIN BINDING PROTEIN C MUTATION Certificates, Veterinary Cardiac Genetic Laboratory, from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine, PULLMAN, WA, U.S.A., for both parents, will be provided by the Breeder.

·        Buyer is requested to isolate the new cat/kitten from all other pets for a minimum of one week.  New kittens may show signs of stress including, but not limited to, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, diarrhea and/or constipation.  It is perfectly normal for a cat/kitten to be off its regular feed for a few days when transitioning into a new home.  Just be sure to give your cat/kitten plenty of love and attention while it is adapting to its new environment and it will resume eating.  If your cat/kitten does not eat at all, you can encourage it by feeding it canned food from your finger.

·        If a pet is diagnosed with a minor imperfection (not known at time of sale) that requires no treatment and does not interfere with the normal function and purpose of the cat/kitten as an active pet, then no refund or replacement will be given.

·        No refund or replacement will be given for any condition or defect caused by accident, neglect or malnutrition.  Buyer is responsible to provide immediate veterinary care to any cat/kitten showing signs of illness or distress.  Failure to do so will render this guarantee null and void.

We pride ourselves in raising healthy, vaccinated, parasite-free kittens.  Said cat/kitten leaves our Cattery, to the best of our knowledge, in a healthy condition.  However, in the event that said cat/kitten should be diagnosed with a medical problem that can be cured, this would not qualify for a replacement.

Each cat/kitten will differ in the time needed to bond with its new family.  Please give the cat/kitten ample time to adjust, especially if the cat/kitten has been shipped.  A period of two to four weeks should be the very least amount of time allowed the cat/kitten for an adjustment period, and longer if this is an adult cat, or there are children in the home.  Please give your new friend and family member a chance to bond with you and its new surroundings.  Your new cat/kitten needs to feel safe and secure for its unique individual personality to surface.

BREEDER/SELLER ASSUMES NO LIABILITY FOR VETERINARY COSTS OR OTHER EXPENSES INCURRED BY THE OWNER.  BUYER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT BREEDERS LIABILITY CAN NEVER EXCEED WHAT IS EXPRESSED IN THIS GUARANTEE AND AGREEMENT, AND IS LIMITED TO PHYSICAL REPLACEMENT OF CAT/KITTEN.

As the Purchaser, I accept this contract and agree to abide by the terms thereof:
